First of all thank you for enjoying my fics! I love engaging with fandom and the fact I can contribute creatively to the things I love brings me a lot of joy <3

Fair warning there is so much under the cut here oops, you gave me an opening to talk about my original shit and now I'm running with it lol

I have several projects at the moment, but the one with the most traction and an actual finished first draft is an urban romantasy following a chronically ill werewolf and the suffocated coven heir vampire with PTSD (and a service Hellhound) who she falls in love after an abandoned new vampire stumbles into her job, confused and bloodthirsty. The major throughline is a combination of found family, romance and going against what's expected/socially acceptable to find happiness and self-worth.

The one also has the most art!

The MCs from that one are Marie and Alex <3

I have a few other stories set in the same universe as this one ^ Including a hunter/vampire story (Daisy and Vel, feat. Eidolon, Vel's mount, who is my interpretation of a kelpie)

This one was originally inspired by Reinary's song May I Have This Dance and then I just ran with it lol

And a witch/werewolf story (Amaris, werewolf and Raelyn, witch); follows a werewolf collar tech (Raelyn) and the werewolf she met as a child, before she realized what was really happening (her family trains werewolves as guards -- I'm still working the plot of this one because I've had a hard time balancing it in a way that isn't harmful to actual people, and it might end up scrapped or reworked into something else, but I love the characters so they get a mention lol)

I also have a multitude of others, including (another) exes-to-lovers between a muralist and tattoo artist who dated in high school; the muralist bailed after high school in an effort to run away from home/family troubles and left a lot of hurt feelings behind.

Then I have a siren/selkie story where the siren's voice has been stolen by a now-popular singer, and the (chaotic) selkie finds out and wreaks havoc trying to free her.

And most recently, a platonic succubus and the grumpy/intimidating witch she falls in love with while trying to figure out how to navigate and hold onto meaningful friendships.

The first one is obviously my most fleshed out, but basically I write a lot of sapphic romance/romance-adjacent and primarily fantasy.

There's a few other ideas I've shelved temporarily while I figure out what I want to do with them too. One is a full rework of the novel I wrote when I was eleven, which was very much Mary-Sue princess goes on quest to save the kingdom lol. There were dragons and unicorns in that one xD

N e ways could you perhaps share your thoughs on The Olds (Jinfeng, Sifu and co.)? Pretty please?

Ooh I’d be more than happy to share my thoughts about the oldies! Regarding the Wood and Water Guardians, I don’t have a lot of headcanons about them except for creating OCs as their surviving relatives post-massacre 😅 So I’ll stick with Sifu, Sean’s father, and Jinfeng for now XD

Starting with Jinfeng, I didn’t know her backstory at the time of writing my fic (nor do I have the game, so I couldn’t check for myself), so I created one for her - only to realize much later that her backstory is written on a wall in the Tower 🙃 Basically, she was born to an impoverished family (which I’d already assumed) as the eldest of four sisters, only to lose her family and right arm in a terrible criminal attack. Following that, she relocates to the city, trains, and becomes the first female Sifu in that region, teaching poor families, women, and girls how to fight, etc.

I’ve kept all that as the basis and just added my headcanons on top loll Before the attack, little Jinfeng is sent to a kung-fu school so she can learn how to defend her younger sisters. And it’s there that she finds Sifu and Sean’s father, and becomes their little sister – not just as a fellow student, but in a more familial way XD She becomes the sunshiney one while Sifu is the voice of reason and Sean’s father is grumpy loll I’d say they’re kinda like the older generation version of Yang-Sean-MC, which presents quite a few parallels between Jinfeng and fem!MC.

Following the attack, Sifu and Sean’s father avenge Jinfeng by dealing with her attackers, though Sifu is affected enough by the experience that he vows to take the Wude path; on the other hand, Sean’s father has no problem beating people up loll And afterward, they support Jinfeng as she heals, and they all train and grow up together! 😁

Regarding Sifu and Sean’s father, I imagine they lived in a similar region as Jinfeng as kids – Sifu was probably better off; meanwhile, Sean’s father was in the roughest neighbourhood and developed a rough personality because of it, which is later passed down to Sean. I’d say Sifu was the most level-headed of the trio (though he’d still get in some trouble as a kid hahaa); he’s the “middle sibling” and the most conscious about the virtues in kung-fu. Sean’s father was protective of Sifu and Jinfeng as a kid, given that he’s the eldest; but he’s probably the reason they got in rough (or dangerous) situations in the first place loll 😅

In their adult era, I like to think that Sifu and Sean’s father are pretty smart when they’re separate, but when you put them together, they gotta share one braincell while Jinfeng gets the other to herself 😂 I even had this crack idea about putting the three in an escape room; Sifu would climb out the window (or search for the key if there’s no window), Sean’s father would break the door down, and Jinfeng would force them to solve the room lmaoo

I think having Jinfeng as their little sister adds to the betrayal later when she works with Yang to take down the Guardians. By that point, she likely had some disagreements with Sifu and Sean’s father about the talismans, but they didn’t realize how far she was willing to go to do it. I do think she truly believed what she did was for the best – she wanted to prevent others from suffering what she did as a child – but at the same time, I imagine she had to bury her guilt and grief so deeply that she wouldn’t feel it anymore.

I also headcanon that she’s kept her conspiracy board up for eight years because she regularly goes down to the Rift to look at Sifu and Sean’s father’s portraits, since she has no other mementos of them (which is something I’ve added to my extended Sifu fic XD)

And that’s the summary of my thoughts! I did start a mini-comic about Jinfeng last year, but it’s been sitting in my drafts forever and I don’t know if I’ll ever return to it 😭But anyway, thank you so much for your ask, anon!! I always love a chance to ramble about my ideas lololl (and feel free to share yours too, if you’d like! 😊💗)

Helloo there! I'd like to give lots of love for this story! I'm a fucking pusset, and I avoid horror with all my might, usually, but your story has been really intriguing and I'm, above all else, deadly curious! I think there's only one other horror IF that I actually like, and now there's yours too! The story seems to be pretty interesting and the MC being a private investigator only adds to that (me loves sniffing around where I shouldn't). When I read the whole swamp scene there was a giant storm here, and when we reach the parking area, the lights started to flick here, the game's sound made it a whole lot worse and I was like "Well, damn you wendigo sir, you already found me". 😢

I looved Elias, he's a real grumpy and my MC was so terrified that she resorted to violence, never my first option, but I loved the outcome. And I'm sooo curious about Shepard, and literally everyone. As Elias said "curiosity killed the cat" and oh man I'm in for a ride, no regrets.

In what specific moments from Haikyuu & Merlin BBC, that made you sure that Kageyama and Merlin are special, that made them your favorite characters?

First of all, my favourite character in Merlin is Arthur, not Merlin xD But it's an easy mistake to make because Merlin comes veryyyyy close behind and actually was my favourite character when I'd just finished the show for the first time! But Arthur quickly took the top spot after I realised that some people hated him, which made me wildly defensive and explore his character in depth in order to defend him against haters. And that's what got me to fall in love with him :')

As for Kageyama, he has been my fave from the first page of the manga to the last. There was just never a chance for anyone else. I think Hinata is the best MC ever created, but my baby darling gorgeous dearest boy will always be Tobio ❤️ He's just a such a dynamic and interesting and loveable and beautiful character who shows such immense growth throughout the series that I couldn't help but hold him close to me (Not to mention that black-haired grumpy boy stereotype characters in anime are my Type so).

I can't pinpoint a reason for me to have them as my favourites. It can't be quantified or explained in words. They just touched my heart in innumerable ways, that's all ❤️

Perhaps I'm biased (I write romance/fantasy blend xD) but I don't mind romantic fantasy. At least the idealised idea of it, the concept of a perfect romantasy. But it's certainly different from just fantasy, that's for sure.

To explain it, I like romantic plot lines. Contemporary romances are usually pretty boring to me, but mixing them with some other genre (not just fantasy) creates a much more interesting story. But it must be balanced.

I think the problem is how the other genres are used. Sometimes they're used only as a setting as you said, because it's cool when everything happens in a castle or the character uses some shadow magic to teleport instead of travelling by car or the vampire can seduce the MC with some vampire powers instead of drugging them. Very cool. And everyone can die at any moment because of some magical disease or dragon wars, or murderous uncle who wants the throne so it's "high stakes". In those stories stuff happens without a purpose or a reason other than to make the MC's more badarse and throw the main couple together. And it's very surface level. Even the whole "romance" part isn't good. I mean, what romance?

What most fantasy used to be was adventures of a scruffy, grumpy guy who had many brief sex encounters with random cardboard cutouts of pretty ladies. But yeah, at least there was no romance there, just lore, a lot of lore. Now we have those same grumpy guys but they're hot, have pointy ears and big dicks that shake the mountains. It's honestly hard to like either (I'm talking about my personal taste).

But there's also that ideal blend somewhere that I have a feeling a lot of readers look for, that perfection that has a rich world and complex characters, with plot that grips you and won't let go until you finish the book. Where you get the best of fantasy and romance. There are books that come close to this perfection I guess, maybe xD

Anyway, I'm glad that the genres are separated too. It's always nice to know what you can expect. If you don't like romance plots at all it's a good way to avoid it. I wish there was a way to differentiate between romantic fantasy and erotic fantasy though. (I wrote too much already but I think that what bleeds into other genres a lot is not necessarily romance but dark erotica. And this should have a separate shelf too.)

Why do people write "romantacy"? It's romance and fantasy. Is there a fantacy I don't know about?

Here are my headcanons I hope you like them:

- Jake is the tallest of the group, Dan and Thomas are just a couple of inches shorter

- Jake wasn't always the tallest, as a kid he was smaller than average until he got a growth spurt in his teenage years

- Jake can be really shy but he definitely gets the deserved respect, especially from the people that know him

- Our dearest hacker was a really grumpy teenager and a loner but he definitely had two - three friends that he really appreciated

- Richy loves the fishes in the office but he has one favorite that he weirdly always recognizes even though it looks exactly like the others

- when the group isn't at the Aurora or with Phil, Dan is the one who mixes the drinks but he always pours too much alcohol in them

- Jake loves cats and baking change my mind

- Dan and Jake have a friendship but they would never admit it

Ah I asked the saved question!! I meant like how the ROs would save people as contacts in their phones. Like I tend to vary the names and ways people are saved in my phone a lot by what I call them, how I regard them, why I even have them in my phone in the first place, etc. Sorry for not making it clearer in the first place!!

Ah, I see! No apology needed! Thanks for the clarification, and for your patience while I tend to my day-job during the week ~ (and to the other anon who answered as well!) I've made this my first item in my list of things for this weekend as a thank-you :)

(The following are all for early-game relationships, since that's where we are in the story right now)

Rin: The monarch of sass. I'm so tempted here to tell you they'd just put in MC/Keo/Wren as "Idiot 1/2/3" xD But in actuality, I think they'd have MC saved as "Important - check right away," Wren as "Breathe" (they don't hate Wren but do initially find them a little... aggravating), and Keo as "Space Cadet." Rin would swear up and down that MC was saved as "Important" because MC is their main point of contact for information on the mysterious magic. And absolutely no other reason. None at all. They're scowling at me in my mind as I type this.

Keo: Keo is definitely someone who'd let just about anyone directly into their phone xD Very much a "can you put on this song while I drive, my passcode is XX" type of person. With that in mind, they'd have everyone's names as normal to avoid potential awkwardness, but I do think they'd swap MC's contact name when MC is gone for long periods of time on jobs (the ones Keo isn’t partnered with them on). They'd change MC's contact name to a heart emoji, no text. If you told them they had to add nicknames for Wren and Rin, they'd probably misunderstand and put "Archivist Iolenas" and "Agent Rin - Den Luana." Poor Keo's a bit dense with things like that.

Wren: Pulling shamelessly from chapter 3, Rin would be "grumpy" and Keo would be "muscles." Wren knows so many people and to keep them all straight saves them in their phone first as some easy-to-remember characteristic. They'd then add notes to each contact with details: the person's name, where they met them, a few key details from memorable conversations. MC would be saved as "delightful" if not romancing Wren. If on Wren's route, I think Wren would stare at the contact screen for a solid minute trying to think up a good adjective to save MC as and just find they're at a loss for words, and that MC's name is surprisingly easy to remember, anyway.

Seeing as you are the reason i and im sure many others got into sifu i will he holding you accountable by forcing you to give any and all of your thoughts on sifu (specifically the dynamic between Sean, Mc, and Yang) (only if u want tho)

You dont understand i thrive on insane fandom conversations it pains me that there is basically none of that surrounding Sifu

Hahahaa duly noted, anon! If I’m indeed the reason for getting some more people into Sifu, then it’s an honour! XD And no worries at all, I too enjoy the fandom convos and rambling about headcanons; the Sifu fandom’s been pretty lonely in that regard 😅 So I shall proceed to hand over my Sifu headcanons!! Also, there may be some spoilers for my Sifu fic, but it’s mostly just a summary of the backstory stuff loll And this also got pretty long, so I’ve put most of it under a read-more tag 😉

The dynamic between Yang, MC, and Sean is my absolute favourite to think about! Starting with Yang – I headcanon that he was orphaned at a young age after losing his family to illness (which kickstarts his fear of losing loved ones). Sifu finds Yang and takes him in, and raises him (as does MC’s mother, Simou). It’s kinda like a Shang-Chi scenario: Sifu teaches Yang more of the fighting stuff while Simou teaches him the calmer things, like tai chi and qi gong.

I imagine he would’ve met Sean early on, and the two become fast friends in a “we’re both awkward, lonely runts who have trouble making friends” sort of way XD As a child, Sean wanted strength to defeat bullies, which inadvertently led to him defending those who are “weak” (which gets twisted as he gets older, as we see in the game). Sean defends Yang, and Yang looks out for him, and they become an inseparable duo! 

When Yang falls in love and marries his wife, I think Sean would feel kinda jealous because he still struggles with his own love life; but more than that, Yang is his best friend, so he’s worried about them drifting apart. But even bigger is MC being born! Since Yang had a lack of affection/security as a kid (and was later taught by the affectionate Simou), he immediately “clicks” with MC and dives into taking care of her as a big brother figure. To him, the title is more than just being a fellow Kung-Fu student. He wants to be like an actual brother to MC and make sure she never feels abandoned or unloved by anyone. I think, next to Sifu and Simou, he develops the strongest emotional bond with MC out of everyone.

I also headcanon MC’s name is Yin, hence the connection between her and Yang XD But that’s a whole other ramble of headcanons 😆

I should also mention that I imagine Simou (MC's mother) dies when MC is still a baby, which adds to Yang's trauma of losing loved ones to illness. Thus, he's always hypervigilant whenever MC gets sick 😢

Anyways, MC is closest with Yang while growing up, and she’s his favourite student when it comes to Kung-Fu. I think MC would’ve been scared of Sean at first; he doesn’t like kids or hanging around them, but Yang says she can trust Sean. So, in order to push them together, I put MC and Sean through a Big Event that helped shift their impressions of each other, which led to their developing bond 😂 But I think part of what pushes MC to spend more time with Sean is that Yang gets busy with his own family, his wife and new daughter, etc.

With Sean and MC, I’d call it a sunshine-grumpy dynamic? Sean doesn’t like kids, but he does grow to love MC as his sister. With his life being full of chaos, danger, and unstable relationships, she’s the only one with feelings that remain constant. And in MC’s pov, Sean is someone who protects her and keeps her safe no matter how many dangerous situations they might accidentally get into (because Sean’s a fighter in the illegal fight club XD). I think MC also helps Sean feel like he’s still needed, y’know? She depends on him when Yang isn’t around, and he wants to do the right thing, but he feels like he can’t be a good enough brother, so there’s a whole bunch of angst to swim through there 😂

And those are the basics of what I have for Yang, MC, and Sean! I could undoubtedly go into paragraphs upon paragraphs about each of them, and detail all my thoughts about their backstory and how it leads up to / affects their dynamics in the game, but I think I should stop here since this is getting pretty long loll But I’d definitely love to chat about some other headcanons – I got some feels about Sifu, Sean’s father, and Jinfeng, for example 👀 And how MC’s parents meet, and all that XD

There was no such thing as love in the air

But then you came into his house; he still finds it stupid and doesn't get the hype but having you around makes me him wonder if he should do something

When he found out you hated valentine's Day he felt relieved

But because it was because of a past lover???

He sees this as a challenge; you really think he's going to just brush this off?

When valentine comes you are greeted to roses, chocolates, wine and a fully prepared meal for you two

"Is this fitting enough for the holiday? I heard people tend to go overboard these days."
